The Digital Futures Initiative (DFI) is a set of new cross-disciplinary programs, research and innovation activities currently being developed at the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD). The DFI builds on OCAD's historic strength in digital curriculum and research, providing ongoing foresight to the digital age. Minors, a major and a suite of graduate programs will provide learning opportunities in digital art, media and design, linking this knowledge to emerging information and communication technologies. Significant research initiatives will inform this enriched teaching and learning environment, in addition to the imminent launch of our new Digital Media Laboratory. OCAD's creative talent will contribute to the development and application of new technologies, providing insights into human need in a technologically dependent world.
